Homeowner Application Eligibility


Applicants must meet the following criteria, to qualify for our program: 

DEMONSTRATE THE NEED FOR HOUSING 

Your current housing is at least one of the following: 

  • Live in overcrowded housing 
  • Live in substandard housing (poorly maintained, i.e. electrical issues, mold, flooring warped etc.) 
  • Live in an unsafe or dangerous neighborhood 
  • Pay more than 30% of gross income on rent 

WILLINGNESS TO PARTNER 

  • Complete “sweat equity,” which includes helping to build homes 
  • Complete pre-purchase and post-purchase courses which include financial counseling 
  • Undergo a criminal background check including a sexual offender check 

ABILITY TO PAY 

  • You must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident 
  • Have an acceptable credit history and a credit score of 550 or greater
